My little one, Henry, is one heck of a Brony. When he asked for a Pinky Pie birthday, I started hunting for My Little Pony attire he could wear. Unfortunately, most of the shirts are obviously feminine, and the Pinky Pie sweatshirt doesn’t come in his size. Enter: a crafty mama.

I started with a navy blue sweatshirt I found on Amazon. I bought fleece in 3 shades of pink (1/8 yard of each) and cut out a glitter Pinky Pie on my Cameo.

and cut each into a strip as long as the seam of the hood. I made each layer slight less wide as the previous layer.

I then sewed the layers down the seam of the hood. I did this by hand and it was super simple-took maybe 20 minutes while watching some tv. You could also use a sewing machine, but the curve of the hood might make it difficult.

Once the fleece is sewn on, simply fringe each side of the seam.

And with that, you have a fringed Pinky Pie mane that you did yourself!

What a great idea. I will have to remember this if my daughter has future horse mane needs. 🙂
