Help Wanted Job Board
Ahhh! Another project years in the making is DONE. I had a version of this Help Wanted Job Board up when I taught third grade, but this is so much better.
I found some wood wrapping paper at Target last year after Christmas and grabbed several rolls of it-you never know when you’re going to want a wood-themed bulletin board, right? Out it came this morning, and I used a length of it to cover the end of my whiteboard (real bulletin boards are in short supply in Room 10).
I edged the board in black border and then ran some fake barbed wire around the edges (you can find it on Amazon here). It’s about 12 feet in length, so it doesn’t wrap completely around my board, but I don’t mind that it’s not along the bottom.
I then started to put my Wanted posters and decorations up. I was able to fit 19 posters on my board when I printed them 2-to-a-sheet. I’ll have about 24 kiddos this year, but several jobs need more than one student anyhow.
I used puffy scrapbooking squares to make the decorative pictures stand out from the board.
Gotta say, I love how it turned out! Once the kids have filled out the job application, I’ll stick little sheriff stars up next to the posters with their names on them. I’m going to switch jobs each trimester-they can try out several, but it’s not too much work for me.
Want one for yourself? Grab it here! It’s completely editable, so you can add your own jobs, or use mine. I’d love to see pictures of how it turns out!
