Without my glasses, I’m almost blind. This is usually not a problem, as I am blessed to have both contacts and glasses at my disposal in the morning. But it can become a huge problem during allergy season. Allergy season = dry, itchy eyes = contacts that want to pop out = usually when I’m teaching and didn’t think to bring my 1 pair of glasses from home. Glasses at the eye doctor are crazy expensive-what’s a girl to do?
Enter: Zenni Optical.
I lovelovelove Zenni Optical. They are an online glasses store and their frames are eye-poppingly cheap (sorry-bad pun). These are the pairs I got about 3 years ago-together, they were about $100.
Henry has since snapped my beloved purple rhinestone cat eyes, but my red frames are going strong (that picture was from this morning!). With another allergy season upon me, though, I’ve decided I really do need several more pairs to keep both in my car and in the classroom, just in case my contacts want to pop out again.
I started by uploading an updated picture of myself at www.ZenniOptical.com. This allowed me to ‘try on’ any frame I saw. I then began clicking frames in the shapes and colors that interested me.
After uploading my prescription from my eye doctor (just snapped a picture of the print-out I received) and choosing which type of lenses I wanted, the grand total came to just over $120. Most single pairs of frames, without lenses, cost that much at my eye doctor! And I’m getting TWO complete pairs of glasses for that price!
I can’t say enough great things about my Zenni glasses. As teachers, it’s important that we look nice in our accessories, but also that they are comfortable, sturdy and reliable. The glasses I’ve used from Zenni are all three, and best of all, they’re CHEAP! 😉
Let me know if you get a pair (or three) from Zenni and which frames you went with in the comments. They are all just so CUTE!
