Teacher Outfit of the Day: Pop of Color
In an effort to kick my jeans/plain colored shirt/flip flop addiction, I tackled my closet in a month-long venture. First I scoured Pinterest for the types of professional outfits I was interested in, and then I shopped my own closet. Once the outfits were put together, I photographed them and put together an album. Each week I’ll pick 5 outfits that fit with our weather and set them in a closet organizer for quick access in the morning while getting ready. No more wondering what the heck to wear!
Here is one of my outfits for your inspiration. Check out all the outfits here!
This is another skirt I’ve had forever and just put with a plain black shirt. But after seeing my outfit inspirations on Pinterest, I realized I needed some color on top. I was originally looking for a mustard-yellow cardigan, even going as far as searching on eBay. But I really didn’t want to pay more than $10, and the ones I liked had beautiful embroidery or embellishments and were more. Plus, I felt like it might be too heavy or take away from the zebras in the print.
Then I came across this scarf at a thrift shop and thought it was PERFECT-just the right amount of yellow and gold sparkle to add the color, but not enough to take away from the print. 😉
Top: Basic black boatneck, Target
Skirt: Anthropologie, Odille
