Every child has a story, but sometimes it can be really, really difficult for them to figure that out.

And while there are a hundred ways to present writing prompts to students, I just love this play on words.

Introducing: The Writer’s Block.

Easy to make! Just cut, laminate and tape to an empty Kleenex box!

I created this after seeing something similar in a catalog about 6 years ago. You can find my file here-it includes the four sides for the Kleenex box, as well as 128 prompts ready to cut and laminate.

Just stick the prompts into the box when done, and you’ve got a fun way for students to un-block their creativity!

The prompts include both narrative and informative topics.  I’ll work on a persuasive ‘add-on’ set in a bit.

Hope this helps your kiddos while adding a bit of fun to your literacy time!
